Paleo Hebrew or Ketav Ivri is a fascinating multi-dimensional alphabet or alephbet. There are 22 letters in the Hebrew alphabet with aleph "A" being the only vowel. Each letter has several meanings and the following letter modifies the first and the one following it.

Our alphabet comes from the Paleo Hebrew through the Phoenicians into Greek and then into English.

Due to the depth of the structure of Paleo Hebrew it is not a light study. Its very nature makes it alive... It is the the Living Word. The "letter" aside from having a phonetical pronunciation conveys a concept as well. It also has a numerical value.

It is a pictorial alphabet: In most modern languages letters are used only as building blocks to form words. However, each Paleo Hebrew letter embodies a principal or concept. A word then can literally tell a story. The challenge here is to think in these simple concept forms...

The beginning letter is Aleph:

aleph can mean- Plan, Purpose, One. Numerical value: 1
aleph is silent. It can be used in between the consonants and pronounced as a "ah" or a "eh" sound.
aleph concepts can be expressed in the other letters.
You can also see it looks like the head of an ox and can also mean steadfast, controlling and without limit.
Now if you turn it on its side you will see it looks just like our "A"

The second letter is Bet:

bet can mean- House or tent, floorplan or contain.
bet can also mean wife or embryo. It kind of looks like an embryo.
The word bet or beht means land. That which contains.

Other meanings include in/with/on/among/through, body, container, pregnant, sheltered. The numeric value is 2

The next letter is Gimmel:

Gimmel represents travel, camel. Throat, conduit. Foot. It's numerical ale is 3

Dalet:

Dalet is the "door" or portal. Think of a tapestry hanging from a doorway. It's numerical ale is 4
